Five Years Have Gone By

A little summary of what's happened The happenings Graduated college with my degree in 2015. It seems to be pretty useless because I haven't even really used it for anything in my field. It's usually just,  OH, YOU HAVE A DEGREE! You don't have to take this test!" "Oh, you were a Psyc major? Do you wanna be a therapist? DO YOU ANALYZE PEOPLE?! Can you tell what I'm thinking right now? Can you save my family?!? Do you know why these people act this way?!" No, I don't know why they act that way. I don't even know why I act the way I do... and I'm not going to pay a thousands just to go back and hate it.. so no thanks. College also brought out some health issues, most notably migraines and bloody noses. MSG is an evil that's everywhere. Coaching Coaching high school was a blast compared to working with the elementary school kids. I didn't have to do keep high schoolers entertained for 5 hours. And the runners wanted to BE THE...

Reviews Times 4

*Walks into a "boring" white room and clears throat: Ahem. Rubs hands, takes a breath.* Three reviews, one blog post. Which one will you guys care about the most? Probably none of them, since no one reads this anyway! -__- (I'll be doing this in the order that I "finished" them.) The first review is of a book called, The Twelve , by Justin Cronin. It's the continuation of The Passage , the came out in 2010, I think, and maybe just a little better. Of course, I would have liked to have read the book when it first came out (10 days after my birthday), but guess who had a Fall quarter to attend with lots of stupid history and "critical thinking" reading and homework? Me. After months of reading boring American history and critical thinking, this book with the size 12, single spaced, Times New Roman font was easy reading. I could make this metaphor: The boring history and critical thinking stuff  was my vegetables (the ones that I don't like ar...

9 More thoughts plus side thoughts

Okay, so it's been about 11 weeks since I've been on here and typed up my opinions, and I'm sure you guys liked that break. But now that the quarter's over, there's a TON of stuff that I have to comment on (or so I thought). I was actually thinking of doing a compare and contrast of my Sophomore years...but that's a little too personal for this bloggy thingy, so I guess I won't do that...list form sounds good. Lists are awesome. I don't really know why I like lists so much, but I put everything into lists or bullet points... weird, right?! These winter holidays. I also complained about this last year too, I know that for a fact, but seriously: These large corporations are squeezing the "joy" out of the holidays by putting up ad after ad after ad after ad....not after Thanksgiving, but weeks before. They have also made "Black Friday" start literally right after everyone's Thanksgiving dinner...good thing my family isn't in...

Life, One Week Until school starts again

Over the past couple weeks, I've read a couple books; quite literally. The first I finished over this two week break from college was Little Pink Slips , by Sally Koslow. It was alright... I didn't really know what to expect, but the ending sure does suck because the ending is where it's the most interesting. Sigh. Some books are just like that, and I don't like it. It was about a lady who worked for a magazine that got taken over by some self-serving superstar. Kind of a let down... Anyways, the next book I read (and finished last week) is The Rise of Nine , by Pittacus Lore. This book is (obviously) the continuation of The Power of Six and I Am Number Four , and this book is even more obviously just as awesome as the others. As the characters get deeper into discovering their "true" purpose in life (ish), they encounter strange dreams...about each other...yeah, I still like books geared towards teens (even though I'm still a teenager, I figure I can sti...

Thoughts on the 'New" Music of "Old" Groups

Image
I keep on hearing Green Day's new single, Oh Love , on the radio station I frequent. I've heard the new Muse single Madness , but on YouTube. I have to say, these new singles are sort of disappointing. But why are they disappointing to you, a huge Green Day and Muse fan?! Becaaauuse they're giving into what's popular today... same with Coldplay, actually, but they had their downturn a couple years ago. Then I stopped caring. But these Green Day and Muse, my two favorite bands...basically of all time have become, well, popy. I'll start with Green Day... When I first heard Green Day...well, when I first  consciously  heard Green Day, I was in 6th grade. Yeah... The first actual songs I heard on the radio were from American Idiot , Green Day's "Who-like" rock opera-concept album. To be even more exact, the first song I ever remember liking of Green Day's was, you guessed,  Boulevard of Broken Dreams . Yeah, that song and I have a lot of history, bu...

The Tea Rose Review etc

So I just finished The Tea Rose , by Jennifer Donnelly... and I totally read that whole series in the wrong order. I don't know if The Winter Rose was my favorite just because I read it first, because I didn't know what to expect, or if it was because it had more romance in it. I just know that all the books in that series are able to stand alone in one way or another. The Tea Rose was about Fiona, someone I "met" in The Winter Rose , and barely heard from in The Wild Rose . The whole series revolves around her in a way...her family. The Winter Rose , about her brother Charlie, The Wild Rose , about her other brother, Seamie. I finally get it! But there's got to be more about writing the series than that... But still, all three books were awesome, and I finally got to see how all these characters got to be rich...and how they all suffered. But from The Tea Rose to The Winter Rose , I feel like there's a huge gap, especially when talking about Seamie, unless...

Dear One of my "Ex Best" Friends,

It's kinda stupid that I'm doing this now, since it's been almost a couple years since this actually happened, but I don't really give a s@&*. My way of coping, since I was recently reminded of this person, who I've happily forgotten about for the past year... This would normally be in my notebook, but I wanted to get this out...share it with others, since there's probably a lot of people feel the same way, even though the situations others have gone through are probably a whole lot different than mine. How have you been? You appear to be doing well, according to the pictures I've seen of you... this is probably pretty awkward, since you've chosen to block me on a certain social networking site... Awkward since you decided to un-friend me cyber-ly and in real life. I don't know why you did, and that's one of the things that's been bothering me for the past year and a couple months. I was pretty crushed when I noticed I didn't see yo...
